Rooted in warmth and refinement, The Elegant Lodge embodies a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication. Designed for an executive homeowner who loves to entertain, the residence captures the essence of a modern mountain retreat—cozy, textural, and effortlessly elevated. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and a dramatic stone fireplace anchor the great room, while natural materials like rich wood, polished and leathered stone, buttery leather, and aged iron create a sense of rustic luxury throughout.
Every detail was thoughtfully crafted to bring people together, from the entertainer’s kitchen with its hidden butler’s pantry to the inviting dining and family rooms designed for gathering. The primary suite offers a private escape, complete with a custom faux-painted wall reminiscent of a tree trunk cross-section—an award-winning artistic feature that adds organic depth. The spa-inspired bath continues this story of texture and tranquility with a stone soaking tub, alabaster chandeliers, and tactile finishes.
Across every space, Michelle’s design seamlessly unites natural beauty with modern elegance, creating a home that feels both grounded and inspiring—a true “warm hug” that reflects the heart and lifestyle of its owner.
Primary Bathroom:
This primary bathroom is stunning in design highlighting a luxury wet room, his and her separate areas, sauna and expansive closet spaces. We used solid wood cabinets in a soft greige color along with natural stone for the vanity tops. Under cabinet lighting, smart mirrors and heated flooring add high end style and function. Stone looking sinks and soaking tub bring the outdoors in with a rustic spa feel. The wet room is a showcase on its own with the oversized stone tile, pebble flooring, gorgeous tub and alabaster chandelier. Serene and calming, this primary bathroom becomes the perfect place to relax and reflect.
Great Room:
With this great room, we wanted to create a cozy ambiance with a rustic lodge design. The wood vaulted ceiling, barn beams, and dramatic oversized metal chandeliers draw you into the room providing texture and visual interest. The center of the room showcases a stone fireplace with a custom limestone mantelpiece and backlit builtins with wood shelving and countertop. For the furniture we selected two leather reclining sofas in a rich brown as well as two neutral swivel gliders and an oversized coffee table. We added a stone top architectural base console table at the back of one of the sofas so it is a highlight as you enter the home. A highly textured rug, metal tones, and supple leather are combined with touches of greenery, handmade pottery, and natural wood accents.
Kitchen:
This top-of-the-line kitchen has all of the function and design needed for large family gatherings while still feeling cozy and intimate for everyday use. We used solid walnut cabinetry filled with a plentitude of accessories from pull down shelf units, tray dividers, drawer dividers, upper and lower cabinet lighting, and a full "messy kitchen" pantry hidden behind double doors. A hammered copper apron sink and distressed copper range hood are showstoppers in the kitchen making a statement and adding character through texture and finish. The quartz countertop and backsplash provide an elegance to the kitchen while pulling out soft ivory and brown tones throughout the space. We decided on seeded glass pendants over the island so as to not obstruct the view to the great room and completed the area with chocolate leather counter stools, wood, and textured pottery accessories.
Dining Room:
With enough seating for eight, this solid mahogany table features timeless design and exceptional quality. Paired with performance fabric dining chairs and an oversized sideboard with travertine doors, the room offers both function and a rustic elegance. We added visual highlights from top to bottom with a crystal branch inspired chandelier and patched hair on hide rug. Oversized pottery, a custom wood buffet bowl and woven shade table lamps provide the finishing details for the space.
Powder Room:
Providing a serendipitous mix of charm and glamor, this powder room showcases a textured tile accent wall paired with a delicate fine line floral wallpaper. The smokey blue color palette contrasts beautifully with the marble vanity and brushed gold accents. Warmth was added to the space using rustic woods accessories, deep stained trim and dried star flower stems.
Family Room:
Overflowing with comfort and texture, this family room has become the ideal spot to relax and snuggle up to watch a movie. We chose a double cuddler sofa to optimize the space and provide the family with plenty of cozy seating. From the plush upholstery, leather cocktail ottoman, velvet drapes, travertine side table and thick woven wools, the room is filled with a mix of eclectic surfaces and visual interest. Curated accessories finish out the room highlighting antique brass, raw wood, stone accents and woven details.
