Chesney identified uses for all of the spaces within the basement utilizing the existing layout. A once awkward space on the far side of the basement gained a built-in area for toy storage and gaming for the homeowners’ two boys as well as a built-in desk and art area. The bar received a makeover with new lighting, paint, hardware, and countertops. Chesney incorporated banquette style seating and a large round table as well as new comfortable bar stools for entertaining. The bar area opens into the family room which received a plaid trim detail wall, new carpeting, new lighting, and an oversized family-friendly sectional for movie nights in.
