Paying It Forward

At KP Designs, our team feels the importance of “paying it forward” in business and in life. This is one of our team’s core values and as a team, we have been able to do some great things that have made a big impact in people’s lives, including our own. We have been supported by our community since KP Designs started and as a team, we want to pay it forward.

KP Scholarship

KP Designs Group is so proud to announce we have established a KP Designs Scholarship through the Delaware County Foundation. Being involved in the mentorship program through Olentangy Schools over the years, we have been able to work with students who were interested in pursuing a career in Interior Design or Architecture. Over the years our Design Team has been able to mentor students from BGSU, CCAD, The Ohio State University and Kent State and introduce them to the world of Interior Design.

Our team is passionate about their career choice and we want to encourage others to follow this creative path. Our first scholarship will be awarded in the Spring of 2025 and we couldn’t be more excited!

Scholarship Requirements:

I Wish… To Be a Designer for a Day

In the fall of 2023, KP Designs Group teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant one of their kids her wish to be a Designer for the Day. We spent two days with her and realized what a talent she truly had. She touched all our lives and we are so glad she was able to experience her dream. She is already researching schools with Interior Design programs and ready to help beautify the world. One of our vendors created a special chair, in honor of her story. It was auctioned off at the Make-A-Wish Gala in the Spring of 2024.

I Wish… For a Beach Room Redo

In July of 2021, KP Designers Audria, Erica, and Michelle Sanders-Osborne worked alongside Make-A-Wish to make a child’s dream come true. She had multiple siblings and wanted her bedroom to feel special and true to her. She created a wish list of items that the designers took to heart. Audria shared, “We listened very intentionally to her wants and needs for a ceiling fan and an air conditioner,” while also taking into account her breathing treatments and a functional homework space. Michelle added, “She had a vision of what she wanted and she sent us images of a wish list. We incorporated pretty much everything she asked for, but we also wanted to wow her by giving her as much as we could, while remaining within the budget.”

Based on the desired colors, the designers built something very special and unique for her. It was impactful to see many people volunteer their time, including two of our partners, Dynamic painting and Joe O’Neil with JRO Drapery Installations, as well as Erica’s dad who helped install the ceiling fan.

The experience overall was incredible – her response was so worth it in the end, being able to grant her wish and design her a space that she felt special in. Erica shares, “this was very personal to me because I had a cousin pass away from the same disease as this girl. It was amazing being a part of this. I love doing projects with Make-A-Wish!”

Youth Education Center

We had the incredible opportunity to work with the Youth Education Center in the Spring of 2016 to transform their center into an updated, organized, and creative place for the young kids to enjoy art, computer science, music, and reading. The entire KP Designs Team, including their kids and husbands, worked tirelessly over a weekend to transform the center to be ready for the director and children to see it on Monday. The reaction of the staff and the kids is something our team will cherish forever. Their smiles and excitement made all the hard work worth it!

Ronald McDonald House

KP Designs Group has worked with the Ronald McDonald House on several projects. The first time they partnered with us was in February of 2011 on the Tressel Family Room. We designed the space into a Buckeye fan room for families to use for gaming and paying tribute to our beloved Buckeyes.

With a major expansion to the RMHC in 2014, we helped with paint colors, room layout, and the kitchen/cafeteria area. When the house expanded again, we assisted in finding all new furniture for the rooms added to the new addition. We are beyond grateful to have such an amazing organization like the RMHC in our community.
